About Us

Carl and Christine are both Rowan and Chi Alpha alumni. Chi Alpha was an instrumental part of their lives in college and helped shape them into the people they are today. For the last fourteen years, they have been working with Rowan Chi Alpha. For the past seven of those years, Carl has served as a missionary to Rowan University with Chi Alpha, leading the ministry. Our desire is to disciple and love college students at Rowan and teach them to be lifelong disciples of Jesus! In addition, we want to equip these students to reach the campus with the Gospel of Jesus, and prepare them to reach the marketplace and the world after they graduate!

Our Strategy

At our core, we desire to see students' lives transformed by Jesus. Throughout the semester, we have weekly large group meetings, weekly small groups led by student leaders, staff/volunteer-run discipleship groups, prayer meetings, outreaches, service projects, missions trips, and retreats. God has helped us to build a community of students who are chasing after Christ and who push each other to draw closer to the Lord.

Rowan University has over 18,000 students. Students graduating from universities represent the next generation of society and our future leaders. Most of these students do not have a relationship with Christ and are in desperate need to know Him. Students are at a point in life where they are making choices that will drastically affect the rest of their lives. Our mission is to reconcile students to Christ and disciple them to reach the university, the marketplace, and the world.

How You Can Help

Prayer

We need people to join us in prayer. Here are a few of our biggest prayer request:

  • That Chi Alpha will be effective in making disciples of Jesus

  • That Chi Alpha will be able to reach students at Rowan for Jesus

  • That Carl and Christine will be able to quickly raise their support and be able to work on campus full time

Financial Help 

In order to be on Rowan's campus full time, we need to raise a budget that includes both our salary and finances to run the ministry. We are looking for churches, individuals, and businesses who can partner with us monthly to help us spread the Gospel of Jesus at Rowan.
