Carl and Christine met at Rowan University through Chi Alpha Campus Ministries. Carl arrived in 1999, coming from an Assemblies of God church background, eager to find Christian community and grow in his faith. Christine began at Rowan in 2001, having grown up in a devoted Catholic home where she served actively—but without fully understanding the Gospel or having a personal relationship with Jesus.
It was through Chi Alpha that both Carl and Christine encountered Jesus in a deeper way and began a lifelong journey of discipleship. During Christine’s freshman year (Carl’s junior year), they started leading worship together—and have been leading worship together ever since. In those early years, Chi Alpha at Rowan was largely student-led, giving them both valuable opportunities to grow as leaders.
Carl and Christine married in 2005 and began their careers. After a few years in the marketplace, Carl became the full-time worship leader at their local church, where he served faithfully for seven years. During that time, he also took on additional leadership roles, such as serving as assistant pastor and, in the spring semester of 2011, directing Rowan Chi Alpha. In 2018, he officially became a U.S. missionary with Assemblies of God U.S. Missions to serve Chi Alpha full time.
Christine built a successful career at PwC in Philadelphia, serving as a tax accountant for over 12 years and eventually rising to the role of Tax Director. Even while working full time and raising a family, she consistently served Chi Alpha—discipling students, leading worship, and taking on other meaningful roles. Once their four children—Judah, Audrey, Zion, and Callum—were all in school, Christine felt called to dedicate even more time to ministry. In the fall of 2024, she was appointed as a part-time missionary with Chi Alpha, allowing her to invest more deeply in the campus while remaining present at home.
Today, Carl and Christine continue to lead Rowan Chi Alpha with a growing team of missionaries—including four additional full-time staff, three of whom came through Rowan’s internship program. In addition to reaching and discipling students on campus, they are passionate about mentoring and developing younger missionaries to be equipped for wherever God leads them next.
Together, Carl and Christine are committed to seeing students encounter Jesus, become lifelong disciples, and be sent out as leaders to impact the campus, the church, and the world.
